which little birds are trainable?
Hello all,
We are researching getting a small bird as a first family pet. We have narrowed our choices to budgie, lineolated, and parottlet. I am probably going to cross parrotlett off the list becuase I have read they can be more nippy then the others. Anyway, my question is whether any of these small birds can be trained to do tricks? It is not our main objective but I think it would be a lot of fun if I can do it. I am at home so I have time to devote to this! Thanks! |

With positive reinforcement, most birds can be trained, including Budgies (as you can see in that video!) and Parrotlets. I don't have experience with Linnies, but I'm sure the same applies.

Probably the hardest little bird to train would be lovebirds. They are very spunky and females are especially territorial after maturity. Good luck with which ever species you choose.
