Thanks for the feedback. I went to their store, but got there barely 10 minutes before closing, so didn't get a chance to really talk to the folks or anything. I've never been to see an aviary/breeder before so don't have anything to compare it to either, but the place was clean, half the birds were out of their cages playing with toys, they all had fresh veggies in their food bowls, they only sold the really high-quality foods/brands, and I just generally got a good vibe. (I'm still a proponent of adoption/rehoming rather than purchasing babies, but at least I felt comfortable giving them my business for supplies I couldn't find elsewhere).

Here's the bed I bought for Stewie (but his is gray). He's still not sure what to make of it:

I hung it up after I was certain he wasn't afraid of it. He climbed in and out and made his "I'm happily exploring/what's this?" noises. But he hasn't totally accepted it as a replacement to his beloved Happy Hut yet. I put it in his cage last night, and I don't think he slept in it overnight (he seems to have slept snuggled up against his Cozy Corner instead). I think he's warming up to it though.

Lol! I haven't told many people yet and no one on that forum, but I joined because I am supposed to be getting a pair of caiques sometime in August/ September. I wanted both a white bellied and a black headed but I wanted rehomes, so I have been looking for over a year. I found an ad in a local newspaper a month ago for a woman who is selling her pair due to increasing travel with her job and she is willing to hold them for me as I pay for them. I am excited!

Lol, that is awesome!!! Like I said, it will be a while before they get here, it is still a little hard to swallow caique prices, and that is even with a rehome price- so I am paying on them. I guess I should head over to the forum within the next few days and share the news.
