Exclamation Blood feathers

i just noticed some blood on my cockatiels tail feathers. I am pretty suure it is a blood feather. But i dont know what to do? Any suggestions?

Blood Feathers << great page :)


if its stopped bleeding on its own it is probably fine. I wouldnt pull it unless it starts bleeding again or if its a split down the shaft of the feather. Check on the fid a few times, look around for fresh blood. GL

Thanks so much I have been looking online and everything said to pull it and obviuosly its too late to bring him to a vet and I couldnt do it. i dont think it seems to bother him. i havent got a good look but i am going to towel him and try to get a good look to make sure all the bleeding has stopped. thanks again
