Emma's growing up

Yes, Emma Lynn is six. She already hit that age of maturing.
However, the past few days, the girls is asserting herself big time.
Emma is the docile one. She doesnt talk, is not aggressive and usually shares well with Sydney. Sydney on the other hand, thinks he's a tough guy and will take any chance he can to start with Stirling.

What I have observed the past few nights is Emma being a bit pushy with Sydney. I'm not sure if she is getting the "eyes" for her brother
(not related, I just call them that). They are the same age, two months different. Ya know, like in school when we were young and the little boy who liked us did mean things to get our attention even tho Girls had cooties?(sorry guys!)

Emma has been rather bossy. At night, they share a smaller java tree in my bedroom. Usually they co exist just fine.
The other night, Sydney was eating some Harrisons that I placed in the bowl on the stand. Emma doesnt care for Harrisons all that much. However, that night, Emma needed each and every pellet that Sydney picked up and she took it out of his beak as he was chewing. Did she eat it? NO, she threw it!
I told her she was being a bad girl and to stop. Yeah right.
Finally Sydney had enough and went up to play with a birdy bagel shredder toy. Emma followed him. He worked the bagel off the perch and had it in his foot. Emma reached out and took the bagel out of his foot and, yep, you guessed it. Threw it over the edge of the java stand.

Sydney looked at me like "help Ma!"

I went over and moved Emma away. A few seconds later, I see her right by him again, and he has his foot up and is offering it to her. She has her head down. I know where this is leading. Last time, she nailed his foot good. Guess he didnt learn. I stopped the action before a bite could occur.

I took Sydney down to the bed where he could play and run, Emma FREE.

Its so surprising to see that Sydney is itchin for a rumble with Stirling, Who wants nothing to do with Sydney.... but is very patient with Emma, and she gives him a hard time! Maybe its because Sydney knows Emma is different? I dont know the answer to that, but I know that our little girl is growing up.

Oh my! Yes.. sounds like little Miss Emma is growing up and put her big girl panties on.. looking at the boys and saying, "Bring it on!" I would guess she is going to "take over" the flock. You go Girl!

I'm getting that with Elliot (into his terrible 2's) a little bit challenging his "hormonal" brother and not backing off an inch.. LOL I've been supervising nightly "sword fights" as I call them.. nothing really aggressive (I watch them very carefully), but just like two young siblings picking on each other.. little stinkers.
They are characters!

Lisa. I so wished you lived here. I have another perfect little female gray for you.. She is adorable and I know you would love her and vice versa. Dang it!

The owner of the shop just will NOT sell her to anyone until she finds the right match for her. That's one thing I like about that store.
