learned four things this weekend...

Peachicks sleep laying on their sides sometimes
Scarlet Chested Grasskeets can hold food in their feet...and will!
An outdoor Aviary is better than an aquarium
A power washer will remove skin in a nanosecond

Nor did I... good to know!

Sure hope you're ok, though.

Taking off skin depends on the PSI of the powerwasher - mine (1300psi) won't take skin off - but my brother's (3000psi) takes off pretty much anything...

and how close you are. Dont hold perches in your hands while power washing lest we forget the power-of-the-washer and the numbness in my brain.

Umm... yep. I have a 1200 to 1300 psi and it WILL do some serious damage in close contact.
Like Lori, I found out the hard way.

Dang!

Those sure sound like some painful lessons learned.
Ya know how if you cut you self with a sharp object, it doesn't hurt as much as if you do it with a dull one? Well, I imagine blasting one's skin off with pressurized water would be one of the most painful things one could do... removing skin by the friction of water?

Goodness me, I've gone & given myself the chills!

The first one sounds cute though I can see how it would scare you the first time. I have read that caiques sometimes sleep on their backs.
