Exclamation Poisonous things I should really be concerned with

I just got a bird on Friday, Kiwi. He is wonderful, but I have been reading that certain things are poisonous to birds that aren't to us. What things should I really be concerned with? I know scented candles and incense. Mostly, my questions revolve around mousse and gel that's already dried in hair, and pots and pans because that was the most confusing part for me.

Any other advice is appreciated since I haven't had a bird before. Thanks.

Welcome!

What kind of bird is Kiwi?

BIG no-nos for birds include avocado, chocolate, caffeine and alcholol. Onions, garlic and other members of the allium family.

As far as cookware and bakeware, you want to avoid non-stick items/items with PFTE (ex. products coated with Teflon). For stove-top cooking, you can use stainless steel or cast iron. For bakeware, stainless steal and glass.

I really can't give you an answer about hair-care products once used in the hair.

Best of luck with your new feathered friend -- share some pictures when you can :)
