Question M2 & a B&G?

Hi all.

I have a dilemma...A client is offering to GIVE me a B&G (Mango 4 years old) with his cage, all his accessories and food for FREE. They really don't want to give him away, but when dad leaves the bird starts screaming and won't stop. Mango is very attached to dad and quites down when he comes home.

I have 4 dilemmas: 1) is the only place I have to put the cage is in my foyer (a small room actually with the front door across from the wall where the cage would go) 2) Mango's screaming and 3) I have an M2 and am worried about Ki learning the behavior. He is a very well behaved M2 and I don't want that to change.

4) I also know that M2 dust can damage Mango's lungs...can a HEPA filter eliviate that?

UPDATE: Mango was apparently reacting to the chaos in the house (3 year old neice coming to live, grandma visiting, etc ), has stopped the screaming and has become "normal " again. They are willing to keep him until August (I have to do some repairs, the main being the a/c ducts need replacing).

So, can I have opinions on the possiblity of Mango learning to live in a new home and NOT corrupting my M2 and on the placement of the cage. Actually any and all opinions and comments would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi,

I have a CAG and a B&G. Echo (CAG) doesn't produce nearly the amount of dust as a Too, but I have a HEPA filter anyway. If it was possible, I would house them apart from each other, get [at least] one HEPA filter and the obvious- be very, very clean. I know there are tons of people here who have both and I am sure they can give you much better directions than I can, but I think that you could probably do it. Just research it as much a possible and talk to the members here :)

A HEPA filter would definatly help. It would probably be better if they had seperate rooms.
