Back from Gabriel Foundation

Today was the second time I went to volunteer. I was only there for a couple of hours. I basically gave the birdies a bath. I love doing that.

The best part was I got to spend some one on one time with Ricky Roo. He gave me kisses, and we had a chat....lol....he is the most adorable guy. Got some good pictures of him with and without me. The lady I was talking to said he is doing so much better that they may take his little vest off, and make him available for adoption.....Uh Oh.....

The rest of the time I was just walking, watering, and talking, and being talked and yelled and sung and whistled at.....LOL

Good day in birdy land. I also got some pics of Julie's (the founder) house & aviaries.....and some more pics of the birdies. Will post pics soon.

Awesome, I am glad to hear Ricky-Roo is improving. Hopefully you will have some time to watch him as he progresses before he is adopted out.

Of course you will miss him when that eventually happens but with any luck he will find a great home where he can be happy and content for years to come!

Can't wait to see more pics.

Glad Ricky's got someone looking out for him and I'm glad you're having a good time volunteering. What do you think of the memorial garden? The ceremony over the weekend to dedicate it was lovely and I and the family had the opportunity to take another mini tour with the minister conducting the ceremony. The sermon had most of us a little misty, but I guess there was a gentleman sitting behind me with a cockatoo on his shoulder that would periodically give a wolf whistle and call out "buy beer!" enthusiastically and how sad can you really be with a U2 at the rear of the party encouraging you to throw a kegger?

Devin - I will miss him, but like you said hopefully he'll have a great forever home. They will be very careful with who they place him with. I just hope being moved again won't make him start mutilating again. He's such a happy loving guy.

Abyssinian1 - I didn't go Sunday but saw it today. It's lovely......and I have to say I wish I was there to hear the TOO begging for beer....LOL
