If I see tail or wing feathers I pick them up and put them around the house in any pen-holders, vases etc that I can find, I don't really collect them... but I can't throw them away! I also collect wild Raven feathers from outside.

I've been collecting Cosmo's feathers because I want to stuff them in a really tiny little pillow and have his name monogramed on it just as a little keep sake! LOL

I keep loads of mine. Not got any of my Lovebirds yet coz i have only had him for 2ish weeks. But i will keep any that are big enogh and pretty enough, or any really that i want to!! I have a massive pile of my tiels, i reacon i could make a 3rd tiel out of them soon!!

Its quite interesting especially with Luna, as on her tail feather, all her feathers are black with white bars, except for her 2 outside tail feathers, which are white with black bars, so when they molt they stand out from the rest, and its interesting to see the size difference of them from when she was a baby, (having said that she still is a my baby, she will be 1 year old on 26th july) So im quite interested to see how much different they will get as she gets older and matures into a fine lady bird!!

That's a great idea. I never thought of it. I save a lot of my feathers. I'm hoping to sell some of Gabe's on ebay next year if he stops fighting with them.

I make feather earrings with mine and I am trying to make a fan from my cockatoo's longer wing feathers. I think they also go great in dream catchers.

thanks jdlilfan

I made a basic fan today with cockatoo feathers, a popsicle stick, and a long piece of leather string (hot glue for keeping it all together)
would love to learn some complicated beadwork someday..
