Question Zupreem Pellets and Molting

ok I have a couple questions, first about molting, my bird is only 5 months about how old are they before they go through there first molt? What signs will I see? Next I want to ask you guys about the different types of Zupreem pellets, which is what Rocky gets plus fresh veggies, fruit, nuts, and other special things he likes. Right now I give him Harvest Zupreem, but does it make a difference the flavor, fruit, natural, harvest, is one better then the other?

The "fruit" flavor is artifically colored and flavored, and best avoided.

The Avian Entrees line is more expensive (12.99 for 2 lbs. compared to 11.99 for 3 lbs. Zupreem natural =40% more expensive! at one site I checked), and contains dried fruits and vegetables in addition to the usual pellet ingredients. I personally prefer to provide fresh vegetables and fruits rather than feeding dry, so I choose a plain, natural pellet. Just what I do, you may choose something else!

I feed the fruity...they won't touch the plain. And all my birds are healthy, bright eyed and fully feathered. And they eat them all up so..I know they are getting their base nutrition. Of course as any good bird mom they get daily fruit, veggies and nuts. Sometimes a treat of birdie bread or pasta!

The first molt usually happens between 4-12 months of age. The bird may become extra cranky, and you'll notice feathers of various types and sizes coming off of the bird. It's usually nothing major, just some feathers here and there. Then, you'll also notice pin feathers. These are new feathers growing in.

As far as pellets go, I feed Zupreem Natural and Roudybush, although personally I don't feel that Zupreem is the best, it's probably one of the better cheaper brands out there....
