Bonding??

I have a Sunday conure and recently brought home a green cheek conure. I was so worried about my Sunday not accepting the newcomer. When I introduced the two all seems to go well and although they have seperate cages, they seem to hang out together on one. Just a while a go I noticed my Sunday "picking" at the gcc's beak and then Charlie made motions like he was feeding the gc- with his beak over the green cheek and bobbing his head. Is that normal behavior? Is he trying to feed the new bird? I have also noticed them grooming each other, but sometimes Charlies grooming extends to the gc's eye area and I get worried that he will hurt the little bird and remove them from one another, but the next thing I know they are together again. I am thrilled they are getting along (I guess thats "getting along") BUt is all this normal behavior? Frankly Im baffled because when my Sunday was rehomed to me the previous owner said Charlie didnt get along with their new bird and bullied it and was beating up on it. I havent seen any such behavior being exibited. Oh and by the way- should I let them be roomies in the same cage? Or should I continue to place them in seperate cages at bed time? Thanks! Robin, Charlie and RubySue

I suggest keeping them in seperate cages, however it's great that the two get along! My mitred was buddies with a lilac crown amazon, and my cherry head IS buddies with a cockatiel, however the two conures do not get along together. I'd say that yes, all that is normal behavior!
