Coco Corella on FB

Our corella (BE2) Coco now has her own facebook page. It's a bit tongue in cheek but I've done this to raise support for the Parrot Rescue Centre here in Australia where she came from and to subtly raise awareness of issues such as diet, behaviour and general care with cockatoos as well. Cockatoos are the most often rehomed bird here in Australia for various issues.

If anyone wants to be friends with Coco and help spread the word then she's listed as Coco Corella.

I'd be interested in knowing more about pets in need of homes. Are the rescues big? Small? Amount of animals? Is there a big need for rescues for birds? What about parrot keeping in general? Do you often see birds in need of vet care/better diets and cages?

Those are some things that you may also want to address on the Coco Corella page!

Coco's page is here: Coco Corella - Australia | Facebook

You can befriend my Stewie here: Stewie Bird and also join the Adopt a Parrot Cause (Causes on Facebook | Adopt a Parrot) to help me raise awareness of parrot adoptions. Please feel free to post on the wall if you have specific stories/fundraisers/etc that you want to share related to parrot rescues/adoptions.

Thanks jenseits. Yep, got Stewie.

Zarita who runs parrot Rescue where Coco came from sends me links as they come up on the issues you asked about Monica. These are getting added to Coco's page with a comment from Coco.

We're about to head into hormone season with madam so expect some rather grouchy comments in her status and comments from me as to how we're dealing with pulling boundaries tight again. How do I know this? She started digging holes again on Saturday, a prelude to a few months of demon bird.

Coco snuck up on one of our friends yesterday and was hanging off his jeans. Didn't get through to skin though. To add insult to injury she did her evil laugh after he got her off and went trotting back to daddy who put her in her outside cage for awhile. Need to get the "Beware attack bird" sign up on the front door I think.
