Introducing new birds to flock

You can read the whole story in the conure forum, but basically I was offered two sun conures from a rescue group and will be picking them up tomorrow. I already have my Jenday conure, Moki. The two suns are coming with their cage, and they came from the same former home and are bonded. They are also friendly. They have a good bill of health from the vet. I have never seen Moki around other conures except at the pet store I would let him say hi to their conure through the glass. He came to us very cage defensive, and even though he likes us fine, he can be kinda grumpy and moody at times (maybe that's just a conure thing?).

I was looking for advice on what to do to introduce the new birds to Moki. Should I put their cages far apart or close together? When would it be safe to have them out at the same time? What signs and body language should I look for?

Congratulations on your new conures! It's hard to have just one! Make sure you take some when you can!

Try to keep their cages in different rooms for quarentine. Even if your new conures passed a veterinary exam, they still could be carrying a sickness that could infect Moki. This not only keeps everyone healthy, but is also allows Moki to get used to your new sun's at a distance.

As far as introducing them, let them go at their own pace. They may have a few squabbles at first, but as long as no one is getting hurt, you can let them work it out.
