OMG...Don't Say That!!!

So, I have a Blue and Gold, Lola that I dearly love. I typically go in to the office in the morning and come back home around 2:00PM and work from home in my home office the rest of the day. At home I have a cage behind my desk where I let Lola out and she would hang out on the cage or sit on the back of my chair. I would give her peanuts as a treat out of my desk drawer.

So then, her lightbulb went off and she knew I had those peanuts in the drawer. So, she started pinching me on the arm, on my side etc. to give her a peanut (and attention). Well, I would yell 'OW' when she pinched me, yell 'LOLA' and say 'bad' to her.

Now, every morning she yells at herself. She yells 'OW, LOLA...BAD'.

I finally had my lightbulb go off and started to ignore her when she would pinch me. When her pinch got no reaction, she stopped.

But, she still scolds herself every morning. I hope if she ever goes to another home and she outlives me they don't think I tortured her!

I heard a bird that says "Help! I'm being held against my will!"

and others that will yell "Go away!" when the door rings

they pick up the funniest things!

It is hillarious to hear her yell at hersef in the morning...Bad...Lola...Bad...OW...

But I do worry that someday someone will hear that and think I abuse her! Of all the things I say to her...that is what she chooses to speak of every morning! Go figure.

Oh thats too funny!... well my GCC happened to pick up a bad one! Recently when ever he hears a loud noise, like our budgies getting loud Stella says "You shut up!"... (umm he kinda got it that from me) Its terrible! We went to Home Depot and a lady was getting all loud with the cashier and out of his little mouth comes "you shut up"... Hubby & I just about pee'd ourselves!

Ashling does something similar... she'll bite someone, say OW then laugh an evil high pitched laugh!

Alfie does the same thing as Ashling, bites and then starts carrying on and going 'OW OW OW!' (it really hurts.) The first time I saw it I realised that he just loves the drama and does it to get a reaction. Little ****e. Now I just bite my tongue and TRY not to cry out or give any kind of dramatic reward to him when he bites.
In my house, Alfie is the talker, and Keiko learns whatever Alfie learns because she loves being his sidekick. So thanks to my sister, every night Alfie growls himself to sleep ("Baaaaaaddd bird! Bad bird Alfie! Bad bird!"), then Keiko starts growling him too, and in the morning they both growl Alfie awake.

funny cause Teal my B&G does the same thing. He will yell "ouch" and then follow up with "bad, bad" "quit it" "be nice" and then a "good boy, good boy" so he yells at himself and then turns around and praises himself! It is soooo hard not to laugh at him all the time!

Oh gosh, you guys have me rolling over here! My B&G sometimes calls "Help! Help! Help! Help!" for 5-10 minutes at a time. He can be heard out into the street! I just know the cops are going to show up one day asking if everything is alright here, LOL!
