Foot band

My pfc doesn't have a foot band. I have never seen a bird without one. What does this mean?

Did you get him from a breeder or was he a re home? If he is rehomed they the prior owners could have take the band off. I had to take my macaws off cause it was digging into his foot!

Often people will have a bird's band taken off if it bothers the bird. Stewie didn't have a band when I got him, and at first I was thinking that I should get him re-banded, but the consensus seemed to be that there's no point.

I don't think it really means anything, other than that the bird's band was removed at some point. It's not necessarily a bad thing.

p.s. He's a cutie!

I have read of some breeders not banding at all either. I'm not sure what the laws are regarding if a bird HAS to have a band or not.

She was rehomed. I was worried because we are a military family. I didn't know if they needed it to travel. I don't think we will be out of the country anytime but you never know. We almost got orders for Hawaii. She is big on picking at stuff so she could have messed with it alot an the other owner took it off. They must have done it as a baby because she wont let anyone touch her now lol
