My birds love their Abba pellets and Abba seed. The babies that are being weaned just love food no matter what it is.

I am going to try the Abba seed. I have not done much research of the Abba pellets.
Are they as good as the Harrison's?

All of mine love the abba pellets. they always empty their bowls lots of good stuff in them too. This is where i get mine from. Some times the shipping messes up but you just have to email the owner and she will help you out. I get 30 pounds of seed and 30 of pellets at a time.

Thanks. I did go to Abba's website and they have loads of stuff. I think I will give them a try. I just hate to get 30lbs and then my FIDS do not like it! You know how picky they can get!

I have never met a bird that did not like Hagen pellets - but as of late, I am fairly dissapointed as I discovered they have a really high % of protein unfit for non breeding birds. I may still offer them as a treat now and then, but darn! They really liked them and they aren't dyed!

As far as seed mixes go - nothing beats Higgins mixes. I like the celestial mix with cinnamon stix in the mix.

My GCC likes Tropican pellets and Hagen gourmet seed. I just bought a bag of Roudybush so we'll see how he likes that. But mostly he eats fresh veggies, grains, birdy bread and some fruit and nuts.

Wel... I came to the conclusion a few months ago, I don't have macaws, I have pigs because they eat like them.

My boys get a fresh mix that the owners at the shop make themselves that is very healthy. As for "pellet" form I personally think nothing beats Harrisons in terms of giving the birds the nutrients for their overall internal health, skin, beak and feather condition. I use the mash instead of pellets because it's less wasteful/wasted by my boys. I have not tried the Hagen or Abba products and the boys both hate Lafebers pellets. They will munch on their nutri berries though.

I mix the Harrison's mash in with their dry mix, fruits and veggies. This way they are ingesting it each time they eat... which in the case of my two boys is "all the time" But I am happy about that.. they are good, happy, healthy.. VERY active little guys!
