Ready for Adoption, Baby Wayne-Cockatoo & Skittles - Amazon

Hi everyone, I have good news 2 of our birds are now ready for adoption and ready to go to "forever homes" . I have found some really good forever homes from the board, so I don't bother with any other sourses. I like to avoid the "riff raff" of people that don't know anything about birds and the last thing I want to do is put these birds right back into the situation(s) we took them out of.

Baby Wayne is a female U2, she is the sweetest bird and loves everyone. She is not a one person bird and is not loud like many cockatoos can be. When BW came to us she was 1/2 plucked and underweight and soon delevoped egg bound problems. She is completly feathered now even her chest which always seems to be the hardest to grow back. She does have a few more molting's to go through before all of the old "chewed feathers" are replaced with new ones. She has not layed an egg in over 3 months (she was laying them every 3 weeks). We have had BW for nearly 2 years now and the vet has given her a clean bill of health. To read more about BW click on this link P.I.T_Bird_Haven._Baby_Wayne

Skittles is a yellow fronted amazon, when skittles first came to us over 15 months ago, she was starting to pluck, she had no fan tail feathers left and was starting on her wings. She was scared to death of people and would run and scream like you were trying to kill her. Skittles has grown all of her feathers out and does not run and scream from us anymore, she does still tend to bite here and there, but not to much.. She needs someone who has extra time to spend and work with her. She has made so much progress and has more to come. To read more about Skittles click on this link P.I.T_Bird_Haven._Skittles

Only "forever home" moms and dads need to contact me and there is an adoption fee. Please let me know if you are interested in giving either one of them a "forever home".

I'm so glad they have finally made enough of a recovery to find their forever homes!
I commend your dedication and strength to work with these hurt birds and still let them go on to the right home. I'm so happy for you, Baby Wayne and Skittles!

Melanie

Thanks Melanie,
Thats the hardest part is to "let them go". Especially BW when we thought she wasnt going to make it and we might loose her. Its hard to let them go, but on the other hand there is alot of "reward" in seeing them come so far, make progress and come out of there shell and get to be spoiled like they deserve.
