Found Lovebird in Victoria BC, Canada with TAG!

we found a super friendly and snuggly lovebird on Friday, July 24, 2009. He was tired and thirsty and wanted to crawl into our shirt and go to sleep!

He's pretty much all yellow and cream and has a tag on his foot. The tag has a series of numbers and letters but I can't decipher them or find out how to track the owner. Anyone here know how to find out?

If you can't see his pic here (i don't know if this uploaded correctly), just go to usedvictoria.com and search for "found little yellow bird" and my posting there will come up.

Thanks in advance for your help, bird people!

It looks like a creamino love bird as for the tag on the toe I have no idea.

Good luck

another couple popular sites you might post on are craigslist and kijiji. someone might put out an ad looking for their missing lovebird soon.
good luck in locating the owner!

There is no registry of leg bands so that won't help much. The only thing is if someone says it's their bird, see if they know the number for ID purposes.

Call your local vets, put ads in the papers, post pix of a found bird. Good luck on reuniting the bird to its home. I have three birds here that were found outside and the owners were never located. Did reunite a tiel once with its home.

If you have a yahoo account, look for the yahoo forum called "abird4sale" Tell them the numbers and letters. They have a list of all the Canadian breeders and should at least be able to track down the breeder for you.
