What does it mean when...

I'm looking to buy another Tiel, I have a female and I would like to try a male. Most are selling baby Cockatiels which can't be sexed yet. Then some have this:

"Male aviary weero $20"

does 'aviary' mean it isn't tame? My Tiel is tame. And I want another tame tiel.. Would it be easier to tame an untame tiel if I had my own tiel with me, it could kinda of show it how to be tame? Or has someone else tried this..? Is it too difficult?
How else will I be sure to end up with a male TAME tiel?

Thanks.

Usually that would mean an untame bird. I do not believe that it would be any easier to tame this new bird because you have a tame cockatiel already.

Thankyou. I won't try to tame a grown tiel then..

Do you think my tiel could interact with the new untame bird and me equally?

If you cage them together then you almost guarantee that you will lose your bond with your hen.

So they both have to be tame to stay tame? (I know they will only stay tame if you interact with them)

And I would never risk losing my bond with Bebe! Ever! :)

You could end up with a tame male if you get one who's tame in the first place... That would be my first idea. Do you have breeders who handle and sell friendly babies around, or just the aviary breeders?

Yes there are breeders around, I got Bebe from one of them. But they only sell baby (3 or 4 months old) tiels and they can't be sexxed before 6 months. Unless you know a way I don't?

I am looking for someone with a hand tame male tiel that they don't want, I will have more luck in the paper on the weekend but I am not really sure if I will find one... :(

Wow....the advice has already been covered here, I just wanted to point out that reading "Tame tiel" over and over started to get very confusing in my head! ^^

Could you get a baby DNA sexed?
Or ( i really dont know much about tiels, so this might be wrong..) but can't you figure out what gender a tiel will be based on the parents gender/mutations/and the chicks mutations? Maybe the breeder could help you.

You can sex pretty young....it just requires a few plucked feathers (usually tiny ones from the chest area). Acocrding to the breeder I got her from, Luca was sexed at about 5 or 6 weeks. (though I still want to get her tested again...never did get official papers for it which i find shady)
