Question about parrots living in the kitchen area

I have my eclectus cage set up in the kitchen, we are doing away with all teflon pots and pans before he gets here,
I have heard ovens have teflon in them, is that true? If so when I bake what temp is the max I should use??

We don't have a toaster oven and use the broil option on our stove, it gets hotter than anything else so I am assuming I should not use it??
What toaster oven would be safe?
Our stove is electric.

Then of course there is the dishwasher, that should be okay right?

I have seen and heard of parrots living in kitchens I know it's not the ideal, but we have no other choice until next year when we move into a bigger house.
It's a macaw sized cage and would take up almost a whole room any where else in the house.

My Cockatoo is in my kitchen right now, but I do very little cooking because my parents are right upstairs, so I just use their stove. Well, I rarely do that either... come to think of it, I mostly do baking and eat instant stuff.
She has been fine in there for months, lol I'm actually looking at her right now and she just said hey baby. I can see her from the living room where my laptop and the rest of my birds are, so I really don't think she minds being in there.
I can't think of anything else that you could precaution against. When my toaster smokes I freak out and start opening windows. I think the key is just to be vigilant and don't walk away from things for long periods when you're cooking around birds. Oh and lids... My tiels are prone to flying in the kitchen so if I do boil water, I always put a lid on it.

Keep a window open when you use the dishwasher, the bleach/cleaning fumes can be dangerous. We have an open area, kitchen - living room, my vet always gives me a cautious lecture about them being in the kitchen area. I've heard horrible stories about birds landing on stoves when things are cooking and/or boiling. I guess you just have to be super careful.

I plan on caging him or bringing him into the livingroom play stand when we are cooking, and when the dogs are going out the back door.
It is close to the kitchen but only a doorways space leading into the kitchen so it would be harder for him to land on the stove that way.

Mostly I am worried about bad fumes.

Also in the winter we use our fireplace, which is in the livingroom,
sort of a ways away from the kitchen but like I said they are connected
and there is a doorways space between the two,
the cage is on the complete opposite side of the kitchen too,
of course he would be caged if we use the fireplace.
I may need to put him in the back bedroom too??

Does anyone use a fireplace? Or too much smoke? The smoke mostly goes up and out of the house but I am sure there is some in the house.

I use a fireplace in the winter and my fids are in my dining room and living room. I have never had problems with the smoke from the fireplace.

My fids stay in the kitchen. Well, the dining room area, but the kitchen is connecting it. Never had a problem, but I have only been here for about 4 months, although, I do make sure that if there is any smoke at all the fans go on and the windows are opened immediately. I also take great care making sure that there are no dry pans heating up on the stove (not taking any chances). And as soon as everything is cooked, all heating elements go off right away.

I use my fireplace all winter long. I have never had any problems. I have also wanted to put a few of my fids in the kitchen/dining room. I just haven't decided whether it would be a good idea yet!

Im luck to have an upstairs landing where my parrotlet Oliver is housed. He gets plenty of light and air and generally enjoys it. Its also far away from my bf's "man cave" so he cant complain about the noise = )
