Bringing bird over the border
I am hoping to move to the states next year but was looking at requirements for bringing parrots over the border. I currently live in canada. I have a GCC and know that he he falls under the CITES rules. He'll need to be vet checked and given a permit. I've also read things saying that he needs to be quarantined for 30 days? Is this true? I'm asking if anyone has done this before so I have an idea what I might have to go through. I really don't want to leave him quarantined anywhere, and if that's the case I may not be able to move. I'll also be asking the officials sometime soon. So has anyone done this before?

I believe that the USDA does require they be quarantined for 30 days before allowed in the country. I would check with canadian and us officials to make sure. Canada might not have any part of that unless they are going into canada.
