Hahn's macaw decision

I have the opportunity to adopt a Hahn's macaw with cage for $400 (couple divorcing and neither wants her). She is 16 years old, very tame, and is used to children and animals. Her lower beak split when she was about 1 year old, but has not hindered her from eating. Her owners also said she regurgitates on them sometimes. Does this sound like an ok deal?

Ya it's not a bad deal, especially if you are getting the cage as well, is the cage in good shape? i don't know for sure how old they live for but before I got Yoda my Noble I was told they live for thirty years.

Sounds pretty legitamate. They probably didn't know that regurgitating is a sign of umm... "courtship". I say go for it!

She sounds lovely. Dooo it. Macaws are $1000's here, frankly $400 is just a joke to me! And post pics when you have her :D

I agree with all of the above. I love my little Dave. He is scary smart, acts like a grumpy old man, and completely devoted to me (the word obsessed could be inserted here too). I can't imagine life without him. Visit the bird, see how it goes and how he interacts with you. A young Hahns can cost more than twice the fee they are asking for if that helps give you a reference point.

Hahns are really very, very nice birds. I love their green and red! and what great personalities. There was an older one in this are being rehomed two years ago, they were asking $800.
