Rose Breasted Too Rescue??

Okay ..

Perhaps I'm loosing my mind but ..

Not long ago there was a very heated thread about a Too that was purchased from a questionable rescue. The debate started over the conditions of the bird in the rescue's care and the prices being charged.

I remember the original poster stating she paid a small fortune ($850) for the bird.

Strangely .. today I stumble across the very same bird for sale on Hoobly ..
for quite a bit more than the original $850. The add is a few weeks old, so I don't know what the deal is. It is the same bird, and it is the same person.

Hmmmmmmmmm

I guess I missed that post. I thought she had only recently aquired him. Why not try to find a good home for him thru this board, instead of Hoobly .. at least here you might find a few people who know something about Toos.

Lol .. had a couple birds who didn't like my man, fixed the problem .. got rid of the man .. lol.

Well I think she's trying to make money off of it. You said she adopted it from the shelter for $850 and she's selling it for $1200 which SHE says is $400-$800 less than she bought him for at the shelter.

Hmmmmm

Wonder if she was ticked off because the rescue wouldn't take the bird back so she fabricated the rest of the crap just to "teach them a lesson" for not catering to her.

I am astonished. That thread she started has 135 (mostly heated) replies. She made serious charges against the rescue. I am truly stunned that she had already listed the bird for sale when she made the post. I really enjoyed all the drama of the 135 replies though!!!! ...so, why did she take the bird in the first place if she was getting married to a non-bird person? That $850 could have gone towards her dress. (giggle)

Well, the ad is 3 weeks old .. so maybe something changed since then.

I did find a post saying she was getting married and could no longer keep the bird, then a day later, she said things had changed and she was actually able to keep him.

Strange thing is, that her posts about not keeping/keeping the bird and her thread about the rescue overlap, all made on 07/25. So the whole time she was ranting about the rescue, she was thinking of selling the bird? What's the point?

I guess what irks me is her ranting about how much they charged, but then turning around and trying to make a profit ... unless she's got vet bills and a nice cage invested and she's trying to recoup the costs?

Weird.
