I would say NO!!! Basically, if you wouldn't put it in your mouth, they shouldn't. If it has any chemicals or a weird smell, it shouldn't be near them. Get the glue gun OUT! Also, if it is still hot, it will burn them. It will also glue their beak closed. Sorry but I really think this is a stupid question. Did you do ANY research?

I once read an account of a cockatiel that passed away after being a room where a hot glue gun was being used. That leads me to believe that the chemicals used to make glue sticks for hot glue guns could be quite toxic to our feathered friends.

I would err on the side of caution and not allow any of your birds to chew on hot glue... or any glue for that matter. If you're making toys, for example, make sure to use just enough safe glue (Elmer's, for example) and trim away any excess after it dries.

I don't think it's a stupid question at all. This is a forum for new and experienced people to learn. People come here to do their research. Why look through a bunch of random web sites when people with experience are able to talk to you directly.

In answer to your question, no glue should be available to chew on. I have also heard that glue gun glue is ok as long as you are not heating it up and using it near your birds as it does have some fumes. If you use a glue gun, make sure to trim away any excess glue your bird might get to and cover it up with something like vet wrap, or something else appropriate to the project you are working on.

If it still seems sketchy to you stick with something like elmers glue.
What are you working on by the way?

Hot glue is a chemical composite that you can heat over and over again....not good stuff.

It's not safe for a human to consume it...it's definitely not safe for birds.

Yeah I agree that posting on a message board can be considered "research" to a certain degree.

I don't believe its safe - but I am curious why I've seen so many wooden play stands with glue all over them. I refuse to buy them!

I think it's might be safe after a long time after all the fumes are gone.
