Anyone subscribe to Bird Talk?
Yeah, I do too. Except I threw away the latest issue. I just wanted to know if there were any bird shows in IL this weekend. I'm most interested in the ones in Joliet or Rolling Meadows. I know they have them practically every weekend! And I can't look in my index because...I threw it away! D'oh!

There was one in Rolling Meadows on the 8th, but none this weekend :(
Joliet show is on Aug. 30th.

Dang! I was hoping for one this weekend. Thanks for the dates of upcoming shows, though!
You can't beat those prices for the magazine. I don't think the prices of magazines have gone up so obscenely like everything else. =)

I receive Bird Talk and it drives me mad. It is full of typographical errors and poor sentence structures. Their editor must not be doing the job she is paid to do.
I could do a better job than her!! Hey Bird Talk give me a job!

I think Bird Talk is very well put together. Also, if you feel like driving, there's a small hookbill festival August 29-30 somewhere around here and Dr. Irene Pepperberg will be speaking so I'm hoping I can go!

Actually, SerBonz is correct as far as the errors, et al. It oft times sets my teeth on edge. Especially the misprinting of things like "How to tell the difference between..." and they mess it up. Seriously, check your stuff before you print it.
However, it has pretty pictures, so it's good eye candy. Plus, it has the Pepper and Parker column, which is full of win.

 Happiness is having a shop-vac for a regular vacuum, feeling nutriberries between the toes in the mornings, & the occasional sip of hand-feeding formula when you mistake it for morning coffee. Ahh life!
