crystal flight acrylic carriers for winter?

I love my backpack carrier for Tiki in the warm months, but am looking for something for when it gets cold so we can still go shopping together. Has anyone used the acrylic carriers? I'm worried about ventilation, and they seem so closed in, like a little box. How do birds to in them? thanks in advance for any feedback.

Chirp n Squawk Bird Parrot Supplies. Best range, price, quality.

I've looked at these for a while. They look awesome but I'd think the stress levels of transporting the birds that way would be huge. There's no real way to feel protected and secure for them. Maybe with a blanket draped over it would work... but that would kinda negate your taking Tiki places in a fun way.

Why not just insulate your backpack carrier a bit?

agreed, exposed on all sides would scare him. I could just cover the backpack like you suggest for car to store or house, and insulate inside with a towel. thanks for the suggestion!

I agree with the birds not feeling protected. If I was moving in a box that was clear on all sides I would freak out - not knowing if the bottom was going to drop out or where a safe wall was, it would freak me out!! = )

since some of you are giving these bad reviews I'm wondering, whats the difference between a cage carrier or the glass ones? since either way they can see through it and they do have a perch inside.

just curious

I think seeing the cage bars makes them feel more protected?

And what's the difference between the arcylic or just taking them outside on a leash? They are still "unprotected."

*Inquiring minds want to know.

I bring Tiki all kinds of busy places so I want him to feel safe. The backpack carrier I use is partially covered so he's not surrounded with lots of unfamiliar people on all sides. If he's not exposed on all sides he can relax more.
