Unhappy OMG I am a horrible mom!!

I feel terrible!!!! So here is the story. I am in the computer room and the comcast guy knocks on the door, so I leave Rocky on his playstand to go answer it, and like always he starts calling for me the moment I leave the room! As I am opening the door I hear him jump off the playstand (he is clipped) and when I go back into the room I can't find him so I move his playstand out of the way and thats when it happened!! I ran over Rockys tail and pulled out two tail feathers!!! He was screaming and flapping his wings!! I feel like the worst mom in the world!! I checked to make sure there was no blood and there was none. The feathers came out clean shaft and all and no blood on them. Is there anything I should be concerned about? He seems fine, playing, eating, etc. As I write this he is trying to eat the keys on my keyboard.

Aww you're not a bad mommy, these things happen! At least you didn't STEP on him or worse, have something drop on him when you were looking for him! Im glad to hear the feathers came out clean, and of course Im sure he was a little traumatized, but it was an accident!!! I wouldn't worry unless you start seeing blood. Don't beat yourself up!!

Don't worry! They will grow back. I had something similar happen to me. My cat pulled out my parrotlets entire tail when he was in the cage. I felt so bad, but he was hopping around like nothing happened! They grew back in a few months and were even more beautiful than before.

The only thing I can think of to worry about is 'payback'....but that might just be a GCC thing, LOL!! Sounds like he's OK... don't beat yourself up over it! I accidently floored Papi when I was trying to get Angel to stop the bite he had going... I felt awful, too!

No.. You're not a horrible mom. These things happen. At least your bird didn't walk across a "gas" stove and catch his tail on fire!!!! My cockatiel did that years ago and my husband and I freaked! And the worst ( but kinda funny) part was the dingbat didn't even know he was on fire! My husband grabbed him and put his tail out!
