Talking Desktop playstand I made.

Neko is allowed to come to work with me but since he is a velcro birdie I need a place for him to play while mom is working. So I made a quick stop to my local craft store, got some supplies, used some brain power (& bf's architectural skills, lol) and PRESTO, desk top play gym for Neko!! I also stopped at Home Depot and got a piece of linoleum for the base. Makes for easy clean up!

Im going to let the glue dry over night (used hot glue, completely safe) and then wrap the intersecting points in string. Im also going to place a foraging bowl on the base and another toy @ the other end of the top bar. My little guy will be entertained!! I'll post a picture of the finished product (and Neko playing on it!)

I know. I wish I could build something like that. I feel bad because I am a stay at home wife and I can't think of things like that to do.

Yep yep....but I keep them far away when I'm using it. Alll plastics give off some sort of fumes when heated so it's just not worth the risk.

Also....hot glue isn't safe for you! And what I mean by that is, watch your hands! Ugh, I was careful to make sure I squeezed out the left over globs and (stupidly) held a piece of foam in my hand while gluing it just the other night...

As soon as the glue popped out, a large globule just dropped right on my finger.

That glue heats up to around 400-450 degrees (I only use high heat ones...low heat sucks!). Not fun.

Your stand looks awsome and may I just say how jealous I am that you can bring your bird to work. I would LOVE to have a job that would let me bring one of my birds
