Wink no seed - will my birds survive?

I mistakenly ordered South American Blend rather than Central American Preservation blend by Goldenfeast. The ingredients do not include ANY seed. It's all fruit, nuts, herbs and grains. I have mash prepared, beans and grains and mix it with lots of vegies. But it will be a few days before the Higgins Tikal mix arrives, I fed my birds all variety this morning and they are looking at me like and the seed is.. where?? I hope they don't plot against me they greatly outnumber me and I am beginning to think they are great plotters, after all they have time on their hands

LOL!! When we were out of the dried veggie mix that my wife made when she got the stuff from the Whole Foods store, all the birds gave me that look! I KNOW they weren't happy. Rayne kept tapping on her bowl cover... SHE'S the one I worry about the most with the whole 'plotting' thing! The boys just looked at me... not only with a "Is this ALL?" look but later with a "What did I do?" look. It was sad. Needless to say, they were THRILLED when we went again on Sunday, and I got it into their bowls ASAP when we got back.

It got REALLY quiet for a bit, then...except for the ara 'happy grunts'.

My grey, Hiccup, only gets Safflower seed as a treat. He's on Roudybush plus he gets dry oatmeal, raisin bran cereal, oat bran cereal, some wheat, some "goldfish crackers", asst. nuts, fruity zupreem and dry pastas in his "dry" bowl. Then he gets his veggies/fruits in another dish. He was very easy to switch off the seeds.

I know that Rayne would gouge my eyeballs out if I didn't give her any seed. She doesn't get a ton of it, but even cutting back made her a *bit* ticked off.

LOL...thats to funny! When I first got Rocky we were still learing the dos and don'ts of owning a bird, and at first we had him on an all seed diet, until I found out that is wrong. So we ran out and bought him pellets, and I dumped out all the seeds and put the pellets in and he looked at me like hey were in the world are the seeds, so then I put a tiny bit of seed in the bowl thinking that we could slowly get him to eat only the pellets, ya right! He started tossing the pellets out of the bowl onto the floor, looking at me the whole time!! It was so funny! He did get to the point in a few days were he was only eating the pellets, so now he only gets the seeds as a treat! You better watch your back when you turn around they might jump you...LOL!

Fids are the pickiest eaters in the wooorld!

I desperately wanted to kill off the seeds....(HUGE flour moth problem and they didn't bother me but they drove the fids nuts) Not to mention that it's sooo messy!

So I started giving a bit of the nut/dried fruit mix Etty gets as half his diet and the two conures took to it immediately! In fact, I was able to just cease giving them seed immediately. They showed no interest after they had pistachios and walnuts. XD
I can't blame them.

Recently I was running low and the stuff is so pricey...instead I went to trader joes and bought a bunch of mixed nuts, pistachios, dried pineapple, dried manga, and dried apple rings. Made my own mix of that to save money and put it in their cages today....they were very please. Especially since I believe my macaw noticed his mix wasn't containing as much of the good stuff since it was almost out.

My next venture (after my upcoming vacation) is sweet potatoes. Now...I'm not a big fan and I've never made them before, so wish me luck! <3

Aww, Beakman does this happy 'chuck-chuck' grunting noise when she gets her mash. It's adorable. :D
