What if they eat the paper?

Like all our babies, Jezebel loves shredding paper. However, she swallows some of the little balls she makes out of it. I'm not sure if paper is any problem if it is eaten. is it?

According to what I've read parrots can make-use of cellulose fiber because they have a special device in their digestive system called a gizzard.

My view is that unbleached paper is not a problem. Newspaper with black ink doesn't seem *that* harmful (apparently the ink is soy based). Coloured inks and glossy or bleached paper I would avoid.

That being said my girl is constantly ripping off corners of magazines and typing (bleached) paper... I can't really stop it. It would probably take a lot of paper to pose a health hazard.

It was pretty funny to see me reaching into her mouth to try and take the little paper ball out - she kept hiding it somewhere and it kept appearing! :-)

yup, Neko eats post its. Although he doesnt eat A LOT of the paper, Ive seen him munch!!

I have never seen Rocky eat paper, he mostly likes to put holes in it!
