Cages with lead and zinc
Well fortunately all the cages I have except one are Blue Ribbon Cage Connections and they say on their site that they are safe. The other cage is a Prevue Hendryx and they also say they are lead and zinc free.
How about Kings cages? As far as I know only Prevue Hendryx and Blue Ribbon are the ones I know of that are lead and zinc free?? |

King, HQ, and A&E are all excellent quality & tested safe cages. There are a few other really great cage brands, I think one is featherland.... but I can't recall the others. ETA: I think avian adventures is one too.
I will say that my Prevue Hendryx cockatiel starter cage rusted within 6 months and has paint scratching off areas. The PAINT may have safe levels of lead & zinc, but the wires underneath are not safe. I have the HQ Flight cage & Its excellent. I had & returned two A&E cages and the stand had some improper welds. I don't have direct experience with King cages, but I've read here that they are excellent quality. Go powder coated if you can, it holds up better than regular paint.
