Exclamation Ouch! Poor Stimpy!

Stimpy our Sun/Dusky Conure musta gotten himelf into a scrap with one of the other birds out in the aviary. I usually put them all out there together but I guess THAT is coming to an end.
The day before yesterday they were all out in the aviary and I heard a big ruckus and when I got out there it was over, but Stimpy got hurt pretty bad(I suspect CJ (CAG)did it) Stimpy now had a big gash right on his forehead near his beak, and MAN it looked bad but the wound wasn't bleeding, My wife started cleaning the wound and I called the vet(this was eight at night and I was lucky enough to get a hold of the vet)
He said that we should clean and treat the wound and that is what we did, and if it looks bad in the morning to bring him in. The next morning Stimpy looked better, the wound was oozing a bit and so we treated it again and by mid day yesterday the wound had scabbed over and is healing really nicely, it is looking really good today although I think he is going to have a scar there. All in all Stimpy made it through like a little trooper he just acted like it never happened, eating, playing, squawking like he usually does. I am designing another cage for him to be outside in and I am going to see how he interacts with Yoda my Noble Macaw( I here Nobles/Hahns macaws get along with conures pretty well)
When I get my flight built for the other birds then I will move the little guys to the larger aviary that the big birds are enjoying right now. Stimpies problem is.....even though he can fly and get away from the larger birds he chooses not to and instead holds his ground not realizing that the larger birds can harm him, he is a tough little bugger though, I can say that much for him.

I'm sorry he got hurt! My budgies often get into scrapes and they seem to heal really well. (They were fighting for awhile until I got some breeder cages and separated them out in smaller groups).

Aww! Poor guy... I don't think my GCC would back down, either. She seems to think she's a mac... She pushes my Sun around.... although I think someday he's going to tire of it....

Hope your guy finds a friend in Yoda!

Poor guy. Give him some extra loving from me. I really like his coloring. He's a beautiful bird. He kind of reminds me of a gold cap only a little more muted. I'm happy he's okay.
I had a conure with a personality like that. He bossed the around the moluccans. He would go after anything and anyone. It got half his lower mandible torn off by a female si ekkie I fostered.

Talking

Thanks everyone for caring, it was a bit of a scare for us because three years ago we lost Renn (his clutchmate) and we are still not over that one, out of all our birds we are very sensitive when it comes to him. He is a little trooper though, he is doing great all day today and he is healing up really good.
