Red face I don't think my lovie is a lovebird..but a woodpecker!

Yesterday and today I notice my lovie Charley has been pecking the ground, computer monitor, his cage bars, bottom of his cage like a woodpecker does to trees! Right now he just kept pecking at my arm! And then he did like this flip. The pecking didn't hurt me and it's not like a violent act. I heard of birds doing this like cockatiels but what is it they are doing or trying to accomplish?

It's soooooo cute! He is already yellow and looks like a baby chickie and now he bobs/pecks his head up and down fast just like one!

Rico pecks at everything! He's (usually) not acting aggressive. He does go after his pinata snotty, though! They boys will peck, too..but not as much. If my wife taps something with her finger, he will then peck at it!

It’s a natural behavior for some birds to peck like that. If you look at birds in the wild some types like morning doves do that all the time. Chiquita does that sometimes.
