Thats a Black Palm Cockatoo...they are stunning birds. We have one at TGF, and he's a real sweety.

They are native to Australia, and are on the endangered list.

Jess, how could you let the Aussies down like this.

They look different but in the feather they are stunners. Most incredible social/behavioural habits out in the wild. We have one, (well two but one is more sociable with people) at the Adelaide zoo. Gorgeous boy, could just sit for hours chatting and scratching him through the wire. Far from the r word they are amazingly complex birds. If you get a chance to see Land of Parrots there's quite a good section on there about them, also a bit about what Ekkies that is rather, well interesting.

We had a member who had one of these beauties. Very exotic. They are supposed to be very sweet, docile and quiet. But around the price of a Hyacinth macaw if you want to buy one.
