Draft protectors

The conure cage is currently in our bedroom, but no matter where the cage is, it's drafty because of ceiling fans and the placement of our a/c heating vents. I have been putting a cloth on top of the cage but this blocks the light. I was cleaning the shower and spied the clear shower curtain liner and thought wow, I can use this to cover the cage and prevent drafts! I bought 2 new liners and let them sit until the plasticy smell went away. The conure cage is now covered on top and one side to protect from drafts and they seem happier to have the light. I am especially concerned after they have a bath and shiver until they get dry if I don't put them in a small covered cage until they dry off (which they don't like much, they probably think they are being punished or something).

The big budgie flight cage has one on it, too. I wrapped a long bungie cord all the way around the sides of the cage near the top., The curtain hangs from the bungie cords and can be moved to the side to access the door like a regular shower curtain hanging in a bathroom. I mostly put the curtain on their cage to keep the mess in and it's working great! I have it tucked into a large under bed storage tray.

My birds would eat a shower curtain. LOL

If you want a sleeker, cleaner look, you could do what I did.

I bought clear acrylic panels and bolted them to the sides and back of my caique's cage. He's a food flinger and his cage is next to the blowing air purifier.

They're clear, so you can't even see them. They're smooth, so it's easy to clean.
