Exclamation I think my birdie is sick!

I think Rocky is sick! I have started noticing that he is much more clingy than normal, but I also started noticing bubbles in his poop. So I did some research and I didn't know that was a bad sign. From all the research I have done that can be a sign of the bacteria clostridium, which can be deadly if not treated. Also a site said that I found if your bird makes a sound like they are passing gas when they poop that can also mean the same thing. Some places say a couple droppings with bubble may just mean stress, but he is having them all the time. So I am taking him to see the vet, which because of the holiday is not open until Tuesday. He has also been more nippy than usual, but I thought that was because he is molting, he has not wanted to eat anything but his pellets, and normally he eats his veggies and fruit well. I am also thinking just from reading what everyone else feeds there birds that I need to switch around his diet. I found a thread where Monica had posted about a really good pellet called TOPS, so I ordered him some today and also some sprots by them, because we have never tried those. An Rocky is really good about trying new foods so I am hoping he will like them. Does anyone have any experience with that bacteria, if he has it, is it treatable and how do they treat it? I am keeping an eye on him until Tuesday, he plays, drinks and is eating his pellets fine, but we have an emergency vet that we can take him to if need be.

If Rocky is not acting right don't hesitate take him to the vet. Birds will hide illness until they are very sick. Let us know what happens please!

When I lost my lovebirds, only one of them acted sick and he died the day after he started showing symptoms. I would take him to the vet ASAP, its going to be pricey (at least my vet visit was, and they didnt even tell me anything) but its better going and getting him healed than waking up in the morning to a deceased bird as I did. Keep us posted!!

At the very least, call the emergency vet and see what they recommend.

Jezebel's poop can have bubbles, and the next time it won't. Days can go by without bubbles, and then they appear again. I don't give it much worry.

I'd say bring him to the vet to be sure, but I don't think he's going to die from bubbly (air bubbles) poop.

Here's hoping for the best!

I would say bring em' to the vet! I realize u r in a tight spot, just try to put him in a quarantine cage or something. I'm sure he will be fine. Maybe he ate to much of something like birdie beans.

Oh, and btw, your congo is Adorable. I love the babyish ones.

Be sure to take him to the vet the minute that vet office opens on tuesday!

My sun conure Molly was sick about a month ago it started with funny breathing & she also was very clingy she was just plain unwell & her poops a bit runny!
I took her to the vet & she has Chlamydophylosis which is like a respiratory disease which can kill them, she is slowly on the mend now & only has 4 more injectiopns to go!
I hope Rocky is ok!
