Is Poop Off worth it?
I just got the new Fosters and Smith and came across the Poop Off. Is it worth the cost and the shipping or are other cleaning solutions just as effective?

Vinegar works just as well if not better. A whole lot cheaper too.

I use it, but it has gotten more and more expensive so on the birds cages, I spray a solution of vinegar and water until it softens then wipe off, but I use the wipes to clean up any messes on my couch or other pieces of furniture. I can say this, it works.

You could give it to me for free and I wouldn't use it!!! I took a GW in a few months ago and her old parronts used it on her cage. The night we brought her home it was too late to clean her cage so we just put her in it and went to bed. In the morning we could smell it in every room of our 4000 sq ft house. The next morning we pressure washed it and threw away everything in it and it still took a week for the entire smell to go away. If it smells that much I can't really see where it could be good for the birds to breathe in.

Gee Michelle, I wonder if they mixed it from a concentrate and just made it really really strong, because I use it often and it has a very light fragrance, not at all as heavy as you described. That's odd. I tried other things, including vinegar, but the enzymes in the Poop Off work best in my opinion.
I use water and vinegar, but on my tile floor in the bird room, Poop Off is the only thing that gets that stuff up. |

I use it all the time....it's magical.
But I actually just use the wipes they sell -- like those clorox type wipes, only it's poop-off. I even see it for sale in grocery stores (sometimes) and petsmart and petco. Fantastic stuff. Saved my carpet, that's for sure. The smell have never ever lingered for me, but like I said...I'm using the wipes. Seem to last forever too. No clue how many wipes are in there, but it must be a lot o.0 |
