Molting/feather color question
Hi. Thanks in advance for your input. Rico is having his second major molt since we adopted him in January (he's my little pinhead right now). Rico is a MRHA, and I have been noticing that he is getting new yellow feathers ringing his eyes (which he didn't have before) and more meshing of colors on his head with more blue and shades of green especially around the margins of the red on his head. The blue bordering this area also seems to contain more diverse shades. I'm not worried or anything....Just curious if there is a known documented reason for this evolution in his feathers? Thanks!

Being an older amazon who has already reached thier full adult colors, I can't tell you for sure.
What I can say though is that a change in color could be due to health issues, or perhaps he wasn't cared for as well before, but being cared for better now, is getting back into the natural colors he ought to be?
