A story about my Duck

I know its not about my parrots but its such a lovely story I thought Id share. I came home on Saturday and my miniature female calling duck Bella was missing. Her mate was in the yard with my goose, staring wildly into the woods. Our barn is surrounded by a big field and woods. I spent 3 days hopelessly searching in the woods, calling and calling, and even brought the dogs out to help search...no luck...I cried and had given up on her....her mate Edward was so sad. I decided I might go out and buy him a new mate later this week.
Well for my Biology lab Im doing a plant book so I need new species to dry and press. I took my boxer out into the woods on the backside of my house, and ventured way out through the woods into a gully. I followed the gully, saw a cute little snake sunbathing, and collected soem cute plants.
I started getting stuck in the mud and so did my dog so we were about to turn up towards the field when low and behold! Bella came quack quack paddling over to me through the reeds and mud! I started crying in joy. This was the farthest place Id never expected to find her, we have so many predators around too. I was sooooo happy and so was she, she quacked and quacked and flew to me and swam and dove in circles, but wouldnt come close enough to be caught.....darn it!
Well i told my boxer, who normally eats small animals, to wait and i walked to the other side of the gully. She kept evading me and I was doomed to fall head first into the muddy water...well my boxer watched for quite awhile, then without me asking, snuck down behind her, creeping slowly toward her and stopping whenever I sai wait. He actually herded her to me! I scooped her up and despite the wiggling, I carried her home to the barn and her best friends, boy were they happy! My boxer was so pleased he had helped he was so excited! Bella got a wing trim to keep her around for awhile and everyone is out swimming and sunbathing happily. I am soooo relieved! I cant believe out of all the places, the huge area she couldve been in i walked right to her! It was so cool and Im very very relieved she isnt dead.....thank the angels!!!!!!!!

Hey, this is BIRD board not PARROT board ;) Last time I checked duckies are birds.

What a clever dog you have! Hey I bet I can guess who your ducks are named after :P

Awww, Ashling took the words out of my mouth. It's bird board. I've seen stuff about doves on here, why not ducks?

I noticed the Bella and Edward thing too....and I forgive you.

(Seriously, I admit that I read and ate up that series, but it's got to be the worst travesty to American Literature [and Urban Fantasy] ever written.)

As we Irish say...'God closes a door, but He opens a window'

So nice for the happy ending.
