OMG hubby and I are becoming normal
Part of this whole house thing is a new entertainment area outside with a peaked verandah 18 ft by 27ft, enclosed with trellis, paved, SS fans etc. Yesterday we went out to sort out the dining furniture and a lounge area. Well of course what we want never comes cheap so after a discount the bill came to about $5500. Ouch, but all good, that was budgetted for with a bit of moaning and groaning.
We're sitting down having coffee when we get back. I realised that we'd hesitated over the price initially and had to go well, it is good quality, this will last for years, blah blah. Funny thing is we wouldn't have tried to justify or hesitated to spend the same money on another trail bike for a stuff about or a pair of birds. Just said to my husband OMG we're doing what normal people do. Normal people spend extra money and savigs on their cars, house and holidays. We spend extra cash on birds and bikes.

you might want to buy a $50-$100 perching tree to set things right! lol

Well we are looking at some more aviaries and sorting out an area near the house for a small colony of Gouldian finches.

oooo i love gouldians! they would be gorgous in a antural looking aviary near your entertainment area!!!

LOL!! I suppose that was pretty "normal" of you! I know what you mean about not thinking twice to spend the money on pets - I do it all the time!
