Help! We have scaly face. Does Ornascale wok?

I took my budgies to the vet 2 weeks ago - they were confirmed to have scaly face and received treatment from the vet at that time...the infected bird does not show improvement and so I did some reading and found that it would be ideal for me to use IVERLUX, SCATT, or some topical medicine that contains Moxidectin or Ivermectin.

After searching all around my area, the closest med that I can find for scaly face is either ivermectin meant for use on a farm at 5mg/ml, or a product called Ornascale...which I never heard of.

About an hour and a half drive and I could find the Scatt or Iverlux, should I go with the farm product, the ornascale, or would it be better to get the best stuff even though it is a long drive away?

Thanks in advance for your help!

What did the vet use, if not Ivermectin? I had a parrotlet with scaly mites, took two doses at the vet to be sure it was cleared out.

There's a product you can get at pet stores here made by Aristopet. It's called Scaly Face and Leg Treatment. I know they export it to china, but not sure about the rest of the world. Meant to be a good product.

I've had good results with Scatt. If you can't get it local you can order it online pretty inexpensively.

You can buy scatt here

It came recommended by a bird breeder I knew on-line, and it works great. I used it as follow up treatments for my badly infected budgie, and was suggested that I treat the whole flock semi-regularly in case there are any buggers left. It also works for air sac mites.

Oh, and if the bird is not getting better after you treat with Scatt, take it back to the vet. It probably has something else going on. Scaley face is very easy to treat.
