Cage for Cougar!

I finally got Cougar's cage! It's huge and oh so perfect. Now I just need to re-organize the living room! Here are pictures! It was only $125!

It's still bare bones, but you can see how big it is compared to Cougar. I love it! Gotta get some more perches though!

Cool!! It's great to get a new cage... especially if they need more room! I felt bad about Ziva's cage size, but I couldn't find a bigger one that was anywhere near what I could afford after that vet nightmare... but she spent most of her time out of the smaller one. The only thing that made me feel any better was the six years she spent in a TINY rabbit cage...so at least the cage she was in was way bigger than that! I still have to get more things to go into the massive cage she's in now, too! She does seem to like the new one, though.

Do you have a playstand for her? Does she sit still enough for one? The one I have for the conures is too small for Ziva...and she still is too weak/deconditioned to fly.

Yeah, I felt really bad keeping her in Drake's cage and he was in the small cockatiel cage, but there was no way i was putting cougar in the smaller one! Drake is happy to have his own cage back, and his sleep hut. Yes, Cougar has a playstand. It's even the same color as the cage! Perfect!

I clipped her wings today, hopefully to make some progress on her harness training. She really falls though, and I barely cut them, hopefully they will grow back out soon, so now she really stays still!

Gorgeous! I think I might have that same cage for my Meyers parrot - I got it off Craigslist this spring for $150 - best thing I ever did!

Have fun filling it with things! One thing I'd recommend, if it's like mine, is to put something on to hold the door open when he's out. My door will swing shut and I don't want any toes caught, so I added some plastic links to use when I want the door open.

Thanks for the info, Skyy's cage does that so I have some bungee cords, but this one doesn't I will probably add the last bungee onto it anyway since the other cages have one, just in case.

BTW, the bar spacing is 1" so it probably would be too large for a Meyers. FYI

Are you sure it's 1" bar spacing? I seem to have the same exact cage, but it's 32 x 23 x 61 - pretty close to your dimensions. I counted the number of spaces between the door of the cage and the outside of the cage... 8 the same size, two smaller spaces. That's the same on my cage. I just messured the space between the cage bars, and it was between 3/4" and 7/8" or 13/16".

Hmmm...

Guess i haven't measured, that's just what the previous owner told me. But perhaps you're right Monica. I stand corrected.
