Okay, it looks awesome...what's the catch?

PARROT CAGE BIRD cages corner Hexagon birds stands-HN52 - eBay (item 310170458792 end time Sep-27-09 0005 PDT)

Fits in a corner, nice and big, neat design, low price...no seriously, what's the catch.

Money aside (i can afford it, yay!)....someone tell me why this is not a good buy, please?

The only thing that bothers me is that playstand thing in the middle. I hope that wouldn't get in the way of room/movement....

so..yeah...help?

edit: Daggom emoticons....the link still works. It just picked up the coding for that picture -.-;

Doesn't appear to be a catch except that it may not get to you in time.

Aaaack, okay. Leave it to Momma (uh, my momma, not mommaof3 ^^)

She found the catch after I forced her to give me her keen jaded buying opinion.

The top looks suspiciously rusted. Assuming this is not the case the actual INSIDE of the cage is only 45 inches, which honestly is only 4 inches more than what Eti's in now....not significant enough for me to pay 500 bucks for it.
The appear to have included the seed guard in the overall measurements, which is why it's so confusing.

Oooh well. it was pretty, but I prefer awesome room over pretty...and I'm willing to pay more for it, so I guess I'll stick with the windycityparrots cage I've been drooling over. Lots more room and best of all, I get TONS of points for buying cages on there to put forth for other things!

Seriously...after buying the divided cage from there I saved over 20 something bucks on my next purchase!

Thanks for the input though, guys. Ebay is always such a tricky thing. All that....reading. *squint*

Honestly, I thought the top was awesome, but I kept having second thoughts going "I'm not so sure Eti wants to play king kong..."

I don't want to burst any bubbles, but would caution you when buying a cage from ebay as most of the ebay brands are cages from companies like A&E who are well known for poor craftsmanship and low quality materials made in china. A&E cages and brands with similar quality have been tested with exceedingly high levels of lead and zinc by individuals wanting to see just how toxic their cages were. We have used nearly every cage on the market as many times they are donated along with the birds we get and I have really learned the different brands and qualities. Even some large cages that are designed for big parrots break easily and I have been discouraged when a macaw snaps the welding on giant cages with ease. They were poorly made and the pricetag usually reflects poor craftsmanship. I don't know if you have your heart set on a corner cage. We have one by kings cages and though it is very sturdy and roomy, it is very difficult to clean and change papers and I find myself wanting to put off cleaning that cage. Corner cages are difficult to move, will not fit through a doorway and they limit yor options as to where it will go in the future if you move or redecorate. The specific corner cage you are looking at has extremely thin wire and depending on how chewy your macaw is, I would not doubt that he could easy snap those welds and free himself. Although this one looks fairly safe, beware of special shaped cages and cage tops because this increases the risk of a bird getting beak, feet, wing, or nails stuck in odd sized bar spacing or other gaps left by decorative bends in the metal.

My top suggestion for a fantastic macaw cage is the double macaw by Kings Cages. The price is reasonable and they provide free shipping. The cage is giant, the materials are all tested non toxic, the metal used is high quality and the powder coating is strong and holds up to many years of abuse without chipping or peeling. The texture allows easy cleanup and poop seems to wipe right off the finish. We have kings cages that are ancient and still in fabulous shape. Most other cages wear out within a few years and you will be looking at buying a new one again soon. I plan to eventually replace all of my own bird cages with kings cages and know I couldn't be making a better choice. I don't mean to sound like a slogan, but I do feel that strongly that they are the absolute best company out there.

We have our Triton cockatoo in this one and he loves it. The sandstone color is the easiest to clean in my opinion and looks the nicest. Most kings cages are fairly expensive but this is one of their best buys at only $575 with free shipping.
