Seriously, I never thought I'd enjoy a cockatiel so much but Nibbles is a sweetie. He's going to make a great pet for our family. My last tiel that I had in high school was scary and mean. I never bonded with him. This little boy is really sweet. He huffs at me and then bends down to let me scratch his ears. He pretends to not want to be handled, but then practically lies down and relaxes when I cup my hands over his body. He even stepped up for me today from the perch in the cage after just one lesson! He wants more than anything to be on my shoulder hiding under my hair.

I wish I knew his full history, how old he was, and if he was loved before. I feel that he must have been hand-fed but maybe not handled much after that. (??) I searched all the lost tiel ads in our area and none are him. :( The people who found him said they tried very hard to find his owners.

The only thing is, he does nibble. Nibble nibble nibble, chewing tiny holes in my new shirt today. I have an old one on now, just for him, and he's nibbling to his heart's content. Who thought such a tiny beak (which I trimmed just a bit yesterday) could do so much damage? LOL My big birds can't get at the individual threads like Nibbles can. He nibbles on the sofa pillows, clothes, and tried to remove an earring from my ear! The big birds just "taste" my earrings thank goodness.

Nibble nibble nibble . . . . better put the little guy to bed now. The big birds are very very grumpy at night but Nibbles seems to enjoy the quiet time. It's been fun just him and me watching TV. I have a nasty dental procedure in the morning and am trying to procrastinate. A gum graft.

When you said Nibbles acts like he doesnt want to be handled and then lets you pet him, LOL sounds like my Neko!! He acts all stubborn and then will just shove his head into my hands, its too cute.


Sounds like Nibbles is a great little pet - Im glad he found your family!

Umm, but what if i get someone to sneakily to put a whiteface grey on my doorstep in a box and then run away. Technically it was given to me and Luke couldn't complain!!!
