harnesses

I got Kiwi a harness a couple months back. Though he is fairly content grabbing it in his beak for a treat, he still won't let me put it on him. He flies away. I'd like to take him to a bird show in a couple weeks, but I doubt he'll be ready for a harness and I'd feel bad taking him in a carrier since other birds will be on their owners' shoulders. Any suggestions?

My only advice is don't push the harness - if it is carrier then a carrier it is... If you force the harness then it will be a *very* long time before you can get it on in the future...

I have different advice-

Bird shows are BAD places to bring your pet bird to. It'd be in contact with LOTS of diseases, etc. Are you prepared to re-vet and re-quarantine him after? Thats more or less what you SHOULD do after bringing him to a bird show
