Severe macaw.

This is out of PURE CURIOSITY people, dont get too excited

Id like to know all I can about severe macaws. I saw an ad for one the other day & am very curious as to what they are all about. Ive read about them, but Id love to hear from those on the board who HAVE one. Temperament, noise level, playfulness, etc.

Thanks in advance!!

Ours is very lovey, although he can throw a fit if he doesn't want to something and has no problem biting the ones he loves. He can be a jealous little beastie when people from outside the family come over. Ours is out of his cage most of the day. He loves being a part fo the family and if he wantsto find someone he will holler for them and if that doesn't work he will do a walk about looking for them. Our family thinks the best description of living with our Cody is that it is like living with a toddler with a really sharp beak. We wouldn't trade him for the world!!

The bird is being rehomed for $200 - makes it even harder to decline. Ive sent the owner an email asking for more information, I can usually get a good or bad vibe from the initial email so we'll see!!!

Great topic. I love reading about them as well since I have one coming in, in a few short months.

Severe's seem very intense, I think it's important how they are raised, trained and socialized they have a lot of potential. They are very devoted. I've only seen one in person, he was very quiet and standoffish, but his person was not there so I think that's why. He seemed very intelligent and observant.
