Local rescue coordinator passed yesterday...

A local lady in NW iFlorida passed away the other day at a rather young age of a brain aneurysm - she was in her 60's I believe. She rescued unwanted pets of all types - dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, however her husband doesn't have the means to care for them by himself.

Over the next couple weeks, a local vet's office is going to be dna sexing all the birds and giving all of them through examinations, then they will be placed up for adoption. The lady had over 300 birds in her care!

I just briefly spoke with the vet's office this afternoon, and she said that this hasn't been made public yet, therefore I won't give out any details yet, but if you are interested in possibly helping let me know, and i'll forward your information on to the clinic. She will be letting me know of placements in about 2-3 weeks.

Im sorry to hear of the loss, she sounds like she really had a good heart when it came to animals. I hope all the birds (and other animals) find wonderful homes!

I was thinking if/when I move to Florida (it would be NW area) that I might look into adopting another conure.... but that's some years from now....

I hope they are able to find good homes for all of the ladies critters!
