Amusing Dinner Moment..

Here I am, sitting here eating MY dinner, after feeding all these ungrateful feathered butts their dinner. I hear bickering and glance over to my Red Fronts.

Zoe (mouth full of food): Stop it! (directed to Remy who's attempting to eat said food)

Remy: Good boy!

Zoe: NO! NOT good boy! ....Stewwwwpid!

Then I feel a thump on my shoulder.

One Caique is attempting to distract me with cuteness while his 3 compadres are stealthily advancing on my food. I swat them all away back to their own dinner.

Just in time to see Zoe trying to get Remy in a half nelson, and Baby RFM flinging an entire bowl of beans, rice, fresh veg, fruit and sprouts WITH beets in it.. straight across the room.

/nods

*continues to eat dinner*

Darn it, someone stole my fork!

Everytime I try to eat hash brown casserole (or rice) Ki comes running, I either have to give it up to him or put him in his cage and listen to him yell at me!

OMG that is so funny. I need flock of crazy birds.... Maybe while the hubby is out to see I will fill my house with foster birds... Yes I have a plan... lol

I just give Abbey a bowl of whatever I am eating. If any of has cheese then she has to get some or there will be a battle.

She has learned how to get crackers out of the bag...

I can relate ..

Made myself a little breakfast this morning .. of course, AFTER all the birds had their breakfast first.

Made 2 eggs scrambled, and half of a cinnamon bagel. Got to eat about half before my cell phone rang ... it was upstairs .. so went up to answer it, started talking upstairs .. maybe about 5 - 8 minutes.

Came back down the stairs to what you see in the pictures. Eggs and bagel .. pretty much gone.

And .. they're looking at me with this "What, what did we do? That was OUR food wasn't it .. you weren't eating it" look on their faces.

Sigh ... I kinda miss eating an entire meal on my own and without assistance, but fear those days are long gone.

I've got to say, I've never owned a bird that eats quite like my Caiques. They will eat anything!! I swear, they're like goats with feathers. Not a finicky feather in them at all.

If it's food, or looks like food, or even sounds like food .. look out!!

Whomever coined the phrase "Eats like a bird" to mean someone who eats very little, never seen a Cake eat!!
