Hey it's Ashley

Tigon and I are getting along better. Every morning he drags me into the shower and it's a single shower not a bathtub. I put water in the bottom and he runs in and out of it. lol
I met a guy, Dave. And him and Tigon are spending alot of time together. He bought him an all wooden play area. We went to Colossal Cave over the weekend and Tigon had alot of fun.
He's really taken to his pellet diet and it's been smooth sailing. He does talk a few words. I love you, hug, hey, and he makes a dog sound, he also does squeal. lol
His vet check went really well. I got a new carrier for him. And I still haven't bought a camera. I don't make alot of money right now and I'm having problems finding one in my price change. I moved to Az 6 months ago, new job, new start. I'm still finding stores. lol :eusa_wall
I'm really learning about this dust and I'm potty training him to a blanket so I can carry his blanket around from room to room. I don't have any other pets so he's got my apartment. I do want to find something other then newspaper for the bottom of his cage though, any suggestions?
Ashley

I've never found anything better than newspaper for the bottom of the cage. I line the tray with wax paper and then put newspaper on the grate. This is a very inexpensive way to keep the cage clean, because it can be changed as often as needed. Because I don't clean the tray as often as I change the newspaper, the wax paper catches the odd dropping and keeps it from sticking to the tray.

Joanie:
That's a great idea about the wax paper. I'm going to try that with Zen's - she has a nasty habit of hitting all the corners so stuff drips down where the paper isn't flush with the tray.

Oh yuk! Andy does the same thing. Try as I might, I always seem to lose the "I can poop faster than you can clean" contest.

Ashley,

Sounds like all is going well with you and Tigon! :eusa_clap

The new guy sounds great also! What a keeper!

Keep us updated on how you are doing. I also use newspaper on the bottom of the cage. Works for us. Tigon sounds very happy. He sure is lucky to have you. :icon_smil

Hi Ashley,

I'm really happy to hear that things are working out for you and Tigon. He sure is lucky to have you in his life. I love how he drags you into the shower every morning. That just sounds too cute. That's grey't that Dave seems to really enjoy Tigon's company as well. It makes things so much easier when we have partners that enjoy our fids. I'll echo what everyone else has said in regards to the newspaper. It'll probably be your best cage liner (other than the wax paper). It makes for much easier clean up. Trust me, I used to use corn cob bedding. It would go everywhere. Please continue to keep us posted on Tigon's progress. You're doing grey't!!!

Thanks everyone I feel popular for once in my life. :icon_smil
Joanie,
Thanks for the idea. I'm going to try the wax paper under the newspaper and see if that helps alittle. He's not really bad about it but when he sees me, coming through the front door, he gets excited because he knows I'm going to let him out. lol Among other things lol
smallonion,
Dave has been around for almost 2 weeks. We met in a grocery store. lol He plays soccer, the jock type. It's been along time since I've been in a relationship so things are moving slow but I think the amazement of Tigon brings alot of discussions up and it helps the relationship. Dave owes Tigon if you ask me. lol
bgmacaw,
Yea for the time being I'm settled. Dave has been showing me around. I use to live in CA so this is new to me but it's still some of the same things around. Little more laidback I think but some people disagree. I don't know where the zoos are yet but I'll look it up. If we do anything it's normally on the weekend because I work nights and Dave practices during the day plus he does internet webpages. We'll have to get out to the zoo now. lol
Crebain,
Yea it's the darnest thing. Every morning when I get home and get him out he tugs on my shirt and when I set him down off he goes. First stop for me is the bathroom, brush my teeth, wake up alittle and he runs to the shower making noise. Over the weekend we hit over 100 and it was hot. He played in the water alot that day. lol
Regina U.,
Yea right now he sounds like a keeper doesn't he. lol I like him but it's only been a couple weeks. I thought the buying of the play unit was a bit extreme but Tigon loves it and when Dave comes over they play with it. Tigon bit him the first time they met but Dave adjusted to him. Now they play alot, I should be jealous, jk lol
npgsoul,
I never thought of corn bedding. I just knew from seeing the chicken on the farm that I didn't want anything he could kick around. The paper he somtimes will play with if he's board and the ink had me nervous but it seems to be the popular pick. I am going to try the wax under it though.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and the back support sometimes I can really use it to help me know I'm doing right by Tigon and not making his life intolerable.
What about you all how is everything going?

Ashley & Tigon
