Help with baby Ringneck

My Indian Ringnecks had three babies in their aivery. Two are very healthy and happy. The third came out of the nest late, unable to fly,it just sat on the floor. The parents showed no interest in it, so I have removed it.
It has all of its feathers, red beak and is a good size, however it does not want to eat.I've tried formula, bread and biscuit, apple, celery ,carrot.
One of its claws is turned in a little.
Any ideas, I really need some HELP!!!
Should it be able to eat on its own ??

Dont know much about babies but if its not eating on its own you will have to get something into it. Did you warm the formula? If it can maybe take a little at a time in a syringe that might keep it alive til you can get it to a vet for some help.

Thankyou!! for your comments I will try some sweetpotato and apple.I had a little bit of luck in the afternoon. The baby seemed to like very thin slices of apple and water.
It's very scared,poor little thing.

Belmarc1, how about trying this recipe I posted in the ringneck section. Breakfast is served. How old is it exactly? Serve food/ cereal warm at least three times a day to give it a boost in nutrition. If it has all its feathers it must be at least two months old, also is it still shedding/ keratin flakes? Heads ups and here is hoping it does better. Keep us posted. Usually the weakest gets the least nutrition as the siblings open their beaks quicker than the weakest. The parent birds do not always rear the weakest ones. Last spring I lost a baby blue hatchling when it parents did not feed it, but a short while later, they gave us our baby blue and took excellent care of him. Is it still winter in Australia? Is the aviary an outdoor one?

My little baby Ringneck has survived its first week.It is eating a little apple and celery. It has trouble with balance while trying to perch. We call him/her Lucky,!!! for obvious reasons....Lucky's claw is very deformed but it has amazing spirit and seems to be getting stronger each day.i have been housing Lucky in a box of a night, during the day I am trying the cage outside for some fresh air and sunshine.

It is getting much warmer in Australia now, we are heading into Summer. The avairy is outside but I removed the baby one week ago as it was on the avairy floor. It has a deformed claw and can't fly.or perch. The only thing it will eat is Apple and celery.I keep trying lots of foods but its not interested.
I am very happy that it has survived this long.It will be disabled, not sure how to house it long term.Any ideas!!!

Please get that baby asap to an experienced handfeeder who can cropfeed and get the needed formula & nutrients into it every few hrs..... Calcium deficiency can be part of the cause for the foot problem. Apple & celery is NOT good enough. I hope you do the responsible thing immediately for that baby's sake.

I agree apple and celery isn't enough at all it will become malnourished and die very soon. It's like feeding a child only apple and celery. You have children, imagine feeding them only this. It won't do. You use up more kilojoules physically eating celery than you get from digesting it. Apple is mostly sugars. If you want this bird to survive, and save your kids the heartache of their pet dying, then you really need to get some help here. You need an experienced breeder or vet to force it to eat, but do NOT do this yourself as it is easy to kill a bird this way. Please take it to someone who can help, or at least SHOW you what to do. Good luck and keep us posted on your progress! I hope everything turns out ok.
